We are seeking an experienced and strategic
Deputy Chief Human Resources Officer (Deputy CHRO) to support a large, complex federal government contracting portfolio. This role requires a highly skilled HR leader with deep knowledge of federal contracting environments, proven experience supporting fast-paced operations, and the ability to drive human resources initiatives across multiple lines of business.
The ideal candidate excels in dynamic environments, brings subject-matter expertise in federal HR compliance and staffing, and can build effective relationships with stakeholders at all organizational levels.
THIS IS FULL-TIME, FIVE-DAYS-PER-WEEK ONSITE
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as a senior human resources advisor to executive leadership.
- Lead HR team development, identifying training needs, and building bench strength.
- Support end-to-end HR operations across multiple programs and contract portfolios.
- Oversee talent acquisition strategies for high-volume and specialized federal contracting roles.
- Provide workforce planning, organizational design, and staffing optimization.
- Partner with program managers and corporate leadership to forecast workforce needs and support rapid scaling.
- Drive continuous improvement in HR processes, systems, and employee experience.
- Support change management, performance management, and employee relations initiatives.
- Help shape human capital strategy aligned with organizational growth and contract requirements
Qualifications
- 8–12 years of progressively responsible HR experience within government contracting required.
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field required. Master’s is a plus.
- Must be highly proficient in Word, PowerPoint, and Excel
- Track record of operating as a strategic business partner to senior leaders, not just an operational HR support
- Demonstrated expertise in staffing, high-volume recruiting, and workforce planning for federal programs.
- Proven ability to operate in fast-paced, rapidly changing environments.
- Experience supporting multiple lines of business or multi-contract portfolios.
- Exceptional communication, stakeholder management, and leadership skills.
- SHRM-CP preferred, SHRM-SCP is a plus.
- Active Secret Clearance, or the ability to obtain one.
