Maintenance Technician

Location: Aurora, IL

Schedule: Monday-Friday 8:00am-5:00pm

Pay: $36-$42 an hour depending on experience

What We're Looking For

Required Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED
• Experience troubleshooting and repairing industrial manufacturing equipment
• Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills
• Experience working with motors, sensors, pneumatics, hydraulics, and machine controls
• Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, and technical manuals
• Knowledge of preventive and corrective maintenance practices
• Ability to work independently and prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
• Strong communication, problem-solving, and teamwork skills
• Commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement

Preferred Qualifications

• Associate degree or technical certification in Industrial Maintenance, Electrical Technology, Mechanical Technology, Mechatronics, or a related field
• Experience with PLC-controlled equipment and electrical controls
• Experience with AC/DC drives and industrial automation systems
• Experience using CMMS or computerized maintenance management systems
• Manufacturing maintenance experience

Position Summary

Pregis is seeking a skilled

Maintenance Technician to maintain, troubleshoot, repair, and improve manufacturing equipment and facility systems. This role is critical to minimizing downtime, improving equipment reliability, and supporting safe, efficient production operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance on manufacturing equipment and facility systems
• Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, PLC, and drive systems
• Respond to equipment breakdowns and emergency repair situations
• Perform equipment inspections and complete scheduled maintenance activities
• Read and interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, and technical documentation
• Maintain accurate maintenance records and work orders using CMMS
• Support production equipment, utility systems, and facility support equipment
• Communicate equipment issues and repair updates with production teams and leadership
• Assist with maintenance parts inventory and stock management
• Follow OSHA regulations, Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), Arc Flash, and all company safety procedures
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
• Support continuous improvement initiatives that improve equipment performance and reliability

Physical Requirements

• Frequent standing, walking, bending, and stooping
• Ability to lift, push, and pull up to 50 pounds
• Ability to work on feet for extended periods
• Ability to safely work around production and maintenance equipment

Work Environment

• Indoor manufacturing environment
• Exposure to moving mechanical equipment
• Temperatures may exceed 90°F
• Humidity levels may exceed 80%
• Noise levels may exceed 85 dB
• Required use of personal protective equipment (PPE)
