Position Purpose: The ES Maintenance position is responsible for performing general maintenance, repairs, and upkeep of building interiors, fixtures, equipment common areas, grounds, and exteriors across multiple Rosecrance facilities located within an assigned geographic area. This position responds to maintenance requests, performs preventative and corrective maintenance, Diagnosis facility and equipment issues, and ensures all locations remain safe, functional, clean, and professional.

Qualifications/Basic Job Requirements

  • High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent required.
  • Experience performing general building maintenance and repairs, including plumbing, electrical, carpentry, drywall, painting, grounds maintenance with the ability to troubleshoot and related

trades.

  • Working knowledge of general building systems and the ability to identify, troubleshoot, and

perform routine repairs within the employee’s level of training and authorization.

  • Ability to prioritize multiple work assignments, respond appropriately to changing priorities and

work independently with limited supervision.

  • Ability to provide and maintain a basic set of hand tools appropriate for general maintenance

work. Specialized tools, equipment, and materials will be provided by Rosecrance as appropriate.

  • Interact professionally and respectfully with patients, staff, visitors, contractors, and other

Rosecrance employees.

  • Understand and follow written and verbal instructions, policies, procedures, safety requirements, and equipment operating instructions.
  • Utilize the company’s computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) to receive and

manage work assignments, document work performed, communicate status and progress, and

properly close completed work orders.

  • Valid Illinois driver’s license and ability to safely operate company vehicles and authorized

equipment.

  • Comply with applicable infections prevention, occupational health, safety, and personal protective

equipment (PPE) requirements.

  • Assist with responding to emergency maintenance needs outside of normal working hours as

required.

Responsibilities

  • Works hours prescribed, along with any additional hours deemed necessary to fulfill assigned responsibilities; overtime may be required.
  • Perform routine maintenance and repairs to building interiors, common areas, fixtures, and exterior components.
  • Perform minor plumbing, electrical, and mechanical repairs within the employee’s level of training and authorization. Troubleshoot and potentially address routine issues involving plumbing fixtures, faucets, drains, water lines, electrical devices, lighting pumps, valves, heating and ventilation equipment, and other building systems. Identify conditions requiring specialized contractors or licensed trades and promptly communicate those needs to management.
  • Perform general wall and surface repairs, including patching and repairing drywall, preparing surfaces, and painting building interiors and exteriors required.
  • Determine materials, equipment, and approximate time needed to complete assigned maintenance and repair work. Obtain or coordinate necessary materials and communicate anticipated delays, additional work requirements, or conditions requiring contractor assistance.
  • Perform scheduled preventive maintenance and general building upkeep necessary to maintain facilities, equipment, and building systems in safe and functional condition. Identify and report deficiencies or developing maintenance issues before they result in larger repairs or service interruptions.
  • Utilize the company’s CMMS to review and prioritize assigned work orders, document work performed, provide meaningful progress updates, record materials or relevant information, and close completed work orders in a timely manner.
  • Travel between assigned Rosecrance facilities to perform maintenance duties. Safely operate company vehicles and authorized equipment to transport tools, materials, furniture, supplies, and equipment between facilities as required.
  • Participate in snow and ice removal operations as required. Snow blowers, sidewalk spreaders/salters, shovels, and other snow-removal equipment are safely operated. At designated facilities, operate authorized utility tractors, including tractors equipped with plows and/or salt-spreading equipment. Apply de-icing materials and maintain sidewalks, entrances, and other assigned pedestrian areas in a reasonably safe and accessible condition.
  • Assist with facility grounds maintenance and exterior areas through routine inspection and upkeep. Responsibilities may include removing litter and debris, planting and maintaining flowers and landscaping, performing seasonal cleanup, maintaining walkways and exterior areas, and reporting conditions requiring additional attention or specialized service.
  • Provide good customer service by communicating professionally and respectfully with patients, staff, visitors, and coworkers. Keep appropriate personnel informed of maintenance activities, work status, expected completion times, and conditions affecting facility operations.
  • Assist with and coordinate access for outside contractors when assigned. Provide relevant facility information, communicate observed conditions, and report contractor progress or concerns to management.
  • Serve as an active member of the Maintenance Team and participate in team meetings, training, projects, emergency response activities, and other departmental initiatives as required.
  • Maintain professional conduct while working in patient care and administrative environments. Be mindful of patient privacy, facility operations, and the potential impact of maintenance activities on patients, staff, and visitors.
  • Understand and comply with the Rosecrance Corporate Compliance Program, Code of Ethics, safety policies, infection prevention requirements, and applicable regulatory requirements. Properly utilize PPE and follow established procedures when working around hazardous materials and potentially infectious environments.
  • Respond to urgent or emergency facilities conditions outside of normal working hours.
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned by management.

Compensation & Rewards : Based on education, experience, and credentials

  • Starting pay HS/GED - $22.47
