Home Maintenance/Handyman Technician

The Role

Michael & Son is looking for a Home Maintenance Technician to care for homes across our service area. You'll visit homeowners on a regular schedule, carry out planned maintenance interior and exterior of homes, and successfully document your work. You take pride in leaving every home better than you found it, and you explain your work in a way homeowners trust.

Skill Set Requirements

• General handyman and preventive maintenance services - tightening loose door hardware and hinges, lubricating garage door rollers, sealing gaps around exterior vents, adjusting cabinet doors.
• Basic non-licensed electrical work - including replacing light fixtures and bulbs, swapping outlets and switches, testing smoke and CO alarms and replacing batteries.
• Plumbing basics such as descaling showerheads and faucet aerators, replacing toilet flappers and filling valves, clearing slow drains, re-caulking tubs and sinks.
• Appliance care includes descaling dishwashers and washers, cleaning disposals, refrigerator coils and range hood filters, clearing dryer vents, replacing HVAC and refrigerator water filters.
• Safe operation of tools and equipment including hand and power tools, ladders, pressure washers, and cleaning equipment.

What You Need

• 5+ years of handyman, home maintenance, or property maintenance experience with a strong preference for multi-site luxury apartment complex background.
• Proven track record in customer service support.
• Your own hand and power tools
• Valid driver's license and a clean driving record
• Able to pass a background check and drug screen

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift and carry up to 80 lbs.
• Comfort working from ladders, in crawl spaces, or during variable outdoor weather conditions.

Salary: $55000 - $65000 per year
