JOB TITLE: Terrain Park Supervisor

DIVISION: Mountain Operations

REPORTS TO: Terrain Park Manager

LOCATION: On Mountain

CLASSIFICATION: Full-Time/ Flex Year-Round/ Hourly

POSITION:

The Terrain Park Supervisor will play a crucial role in maintaining, supervising, and enhancing our terrain park facilities. They will work closely with the Terrain Park Manager to ensure the safe operation of all features and provide guests with an unforgettable experience. The Terrain Park Supervisor will lead a team of park crew members and actively participate in park setup and maintenance activities.

SPECIFIC JOB REQUIREMENTS:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; college degree in a related field preferred.
  • Previous experience in terrain park operations or ski/snowboard industry.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills.
  • Proficient in terrain park design principles and feature construction.
  • Knowledge of safety protocols and risk management in a terrain park setting.
  • Ability to operate and maintain terrain park equipment.
  • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
  • Passion for skiing or snowboarding and a commitment to guest satisfaction.
  • Ability to work in varying weather conditions and lift heavy objects when necessary.
  • Comfortable working outdoors in a mountain environment.


JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Park Maintenance and Safety:
  • Oversee daily inspections of park features, rails, jumps, and other elements to ensure they meet safety and quality standards.
  • Assist in the repair, grooming, and shaping of terrain park features as needed.
  • Conduct safety checks and ensure all signage is accurate and visible.
  • Enforce safety protocols and educate park users on responsible park etiquette.

Supervision and Leadership:
  • Lead and motivate a team of park crew members, assigning tasks and ensuring they follow safety guidelines.
  • Provide training and guidance to park crew members, promoting skill development and teamwork.
  • Maintain a positive and productive work environment.

Park Design and Innovation:
  • Collaborate with the Terrain Park Manager to plan and execute park layout, design, and feature placement.
  • Continuously seek innovative ways to enhance the terrain park experience and engage with new trends in park design.

Guest Interaction:
  • Interact with park users to gather feedback, address concerns, and provide assistance when necessary.
  • Act as a point of contact for guest inquiries regarding terrain park operations.

Equipment and Resource Management:
  • Manage terrain park equipment, including snowcats, grooming machines, and hand tools, ensuring they are properly maintained and serviced.
  • Monitor and control resource allocation, such as snow and manpower, to optimize park conditions.

Documentation and Reporting:
  • Maintain detailed records of maintenance activities, inspections, and incidents.
  • Generate regular reports on terrain park usage, conditions, and improvements.
  • Document group trainings and coaching sessions.
