Position Summary
Manages the overall coordination and production of concrete pipe and manhole drawings that are manufactured and/or fabricated by Concrete Industries. Abides by Company Safety Program and Policies, while performing duties safely. Consistent and reliable attendance is required.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
Supervises the production of concrete pipe listings, concrete manhole drawings and checking of parts, materials to be used, relation to one part to another and relation to various other parts of the combined system.
Interfaces with Engineering and Production personnel to implement, create and maintain drafting standards.
Provides improvement recommendations to detailing procedures to reduce discrepancies between Engineering and Production.
Coordinates production status between customer and Drafting-Engineering/Sales/Production personnel.
Supervises creation and maintain internal project documents and folders according to company policy.
Reads and comprehends architectural/mechanical/electrical/structural drawings, specifications, engineering calculations as necessary.
Utilizes knowledge of various computer programs, engineering practices, production practices, mathematics, building materials, and other physical sciences to complete drawings.
Uses computer assisted drafting (CAD) type software AutoCAD.
Performs oversight responsibilities for non-exempt cad operators, including training, planning, assigning and directing work, addressing complaints, and resolving problems.
Education and Experience
- Associates degree in Architectural Drafting; and
- three years drafting experience dealing with underground civil structures, transportation structures, and commercial and industrial structures; or
- an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.

Skills and Abilities
- Working knowledge of CAD techniques.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Systems, including Word and Excel.
- Knowledge of concrete pipe and reinforcing bar practices.
- Ability to think independently and determine what needs to be drawn.
- Ability to work required overtime especially during the spring and summer months.
