Minimum Salary: $72,307; salary determined on experience and education.
Duties & Responsibilities: (Essential Functions of Position, Major Responsibilities, Summary of Key Duties, Special Assignments, Relationships)
  • Assist the Supervisor in the coordination of all district Food & Nutrition Services operations and maintains program standards. Includes assistance in implementing and maintaining local, state and federal government requirements.
  • Coordinates interviews, recommends hiring and job assignments, process transfer of personnel for a department staff.
  • Plans and provides staff training, including OSHA, HACCP, personal protective equipment & workers compensation.
  • Coordinates and oversees the Summer Food Service Program and After School Snack Programs.
  • Maintains, analyzes and submits data, records, and reports, accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Assists in Human Resource issues, especially assisting in performance improvement plans.
  • Knowledge of bargaining group contract and proper procedures for Human Resource functions.
  • Plan and coordinate food service needs for new auxiliary programs and calendars.
  • Assists with safety, sanitation, food & customer service quality assurance programs.
  • Assist in implementing and maintaining local, state and federal government requirements. Monitor meal counting and claiming systems utilizing approved computer software.
  • Assists Supervisor in accounting procedures and audits as well as POS operations.
  • Assists with establishing & maintaining safety and sanitation procedures, including HACCP and ServSafe.
  • Assists in coordinating and monitoring catering services.
  • Assists in evaluating management systems, seeking continuous improvement and key performance indicators.
  • Reviews and coordinates small and large equipment needs.
  • Plan and coordinate delivery schedule for satellite schools via FNS trucks.
  • Provide regular field monitoring and for compliance with regulations, policies, and procedures.
  • Maintains effective communications with staff, principals, parents, students, and community.
  • Reports to: Supervisor of Food & Nutrition Services
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Successful candidate must possess strong inter-personal skills with a proven record of building rapport with culturally diverse adult and student populations.
  • Good attendance and punctuality are expected to ensure that the duties and responsibilities of the job are performed successfully.

Qualifications Required/ Desired: (Personal Qualities, Education, Skills Needed, Experience, Etc.)
  • Associates Degree or Certified Dietary Manager (CDM) preferred, or appropriate accredited course work in foods, nutrition, food safety and sanitation, restaurant management, or related fields.
  • Certified (or certification eligible) through SNA, minimum of Level II, Manager.
  • Successful experience in food service management.
  • Possess analytical and technological skills in evaluating food preparation, production, cost control, labor, and financial data.
  • Such alternative to the above qualifications as the District may find appropriate and acceptable.
  • Demonstrates human relations skills, effectively solving problems and constructively influencing others through leadership, teaming, listening and fairness.
  • Ability to take initiative, be creative, delegate and function with minimal supervision.
