Job Description

About Worldpay

At Worldpay, our goal is to solve all the ecommerce and payment needs for merchants of all types and sizes worldwide. We serve large and fast-growing companies with their complex and tailored payment needs supported by vertical expertise in their specific business. Our solutions also provide local in-store, online and mobile payment acceptance solutions for merchants, from large corporates to small and medium-sized enterprises and micro merchants with a focus on integrated payments for SMEs/SMBs.

Worldpay has been privately owned by the leading private equity group GTCR since February this year, and since then we have been striving to bring greater levels of value, innovation, and service to clients through increased investment in product, technology, and client solutions. The company also plans to pursue strategic acquisitions across verticals and geographies to further enhance its ability to serve clients and expand its market opportunities.

About the team

The Strategic Partnerships team tackles partnerships that drive key growth areas for the business with impact across all segments. We are a small but mighty team in the Chief Strategy Office that works on Worldpay’s most important partnerships – analyzing where we need to partner, identifying and assessing key partnership opportunities, structuring commercial deals, and in where needed, managing partner relationships. This role will be focused on our Product Partnerships in particular, looking at partners who can bring additional value to existing and new merchants through new and interesting technology and services.

What you will be doing

The Senior Partner Manager does the following activities:

  • Develop and execute partner strategy: analyze internal capabilities and external market factors to determine where we need to partner, who to partner with, how to structure partnerships, etc.
  • Lead all aspects of deal execution with support: identifying and prioritizing targets, business case development, deal structuring, negotiating terms and contracts, and closing
  • Collaborate across segments: liaise with Product, Sales, Commercial and Strategy teams and other areas of the business to gather input and ensure alignment on the partners we pursue
  • Ensure the success of your partnerships and work with the partner and stakeholders at Worldpay to launch and grow the partnership
  • Have the autonomy to explore other potential partnerships that can deliver additional capabilities to our existing suite of products and services, and hence additional value to our merchants

The ideal candidate will have a combination of the following:

  • 2-3+ years of sales experience in a business development (preferred) or a relationship management role, ideally in a technology or fin tech space
  • A track record of signing and launching new partnerships with tangible business value and revenue impact, ideally in a technology or fin tech space
  • Proven ability to assess potential partnerships with a strategic lens; thinking through use cases, value proposition, what that means for the business case, and what tangible business benefit it provides in the short and long term
  • Strong aptitude for establishing and maintaining effective working relationships and the ability to interact effectively with people at all levels of Worldpay as well as client/partner organizations
  • Added bonus if you are currently in the payments industry in the US or UK and have a general knowledge of how the payments ecosystem works
  • Ability to travel 20-30%

What we offer you:

  • A multifaceted job with a high degree of responsibility and a broad spectrum of opportunities. We love giving internal candidates the opportunity to move into other areas of the business and take on new roles and opportunities
  • The chance to work on some of the most challenging, relevant issues in financial services & technology. Worldpay is the largest acquirer in the world – we serve some of the biggest merchants and solve their most pertinent problems
  • A fantastic range of benefits designed to help support your lifestyle and wellbeing
  • A broad range of professional education and personal development opportunities
  • The opportunity to interface with senior executives at Worldpay and at potential/existing partner organizations
  • A competitive salary and benefits
