Responsibilities

PeopleTec is currently seeking a Deputy Program Manager to support our Huntsville, AL location.

Our team is looking for an exceptionally motivated self-starting Deputy Program Manager to help oversee and coordinate the various projects, products, and other strategic initiatives for a large and complex DoD Program. The candidate will provide strategic project management for a group of related projects that together support a strategic business initiative.

Duties Include

  • The Deputy Program Managers job is to take a high-level view of the entire program, and strategically guide project managers and task leads to ensure they are all working effectively toward the program’s objective.
  • Serve as a technical resource and team member in designing, developing plans to implement systems and procedures to facilitate the delivery of intuitive program applications for new and existing product lines.
  • Work closely with Directorate & Corporate management to continuously improve product reliability, functionality and minimize project costs.
  • Daily program management throughout the program lifecycle.
  • Establish and maintain excellent working relationship with customer.
  • Define the program governance.
  • Plan the overall program and monitor the progress.
  • Manage the program’s budget.
  • Manage risks and issues and take corrective measures.
  • Coordinate the projects and their interdependencies.
  • Manage and utilize resources across the projects.
  • Capable of ensuring personnel resources are planned and allocated to perform all required tasks.
  • Manage stakeholders’ communication.
  • Align deliverables to the program’s outcome.
  • Manage the program’s documentation.


Qualifications

Required Skills/Experience:

  • Recent work experience as a senior-level or lead technical lead in a related position on a major program, project, or activity.
  • Experience directing and supervising engineering and technical personnel on a major program, project, or activity.
  • Leading/experience with software development efforts.
  • Leading/experience with data science and/or cloud technology efforts.
  • Experience with developing/guiding SaaS and/or PaaS capabilities.
  • Familiarity with DoD digital engineering objectives
  • Capable of managing and directing a large & diverse team of personnel in providing technical design, development, integration, test, and support.
  • Ability to solve complex problems and communicate effectively.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills are essential.
  • Exceptional organizational skills including attention to detail and multi-tasking skills.
  • Technical and project leadership experience
  • Travel: up to 10 %
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen
  • An active DoD Secret clearance is required to perform this work. Candidates are required to have an active Secret clearance upon hire, and the ability to maintain this level of clearance during their employment.


Education Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in one of the following STEM areas: Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering, Computer and Information Security, Computer Security, and/or Network Administration from an accredited university/college with fifteen (15) years' experience (or equivalent combination of training and experience); or Master's Degree in STEM or related scientific/technical field with a minimum of five (10) years of relevant experience (or equivalent combination of training and experience).


Desired Skills

  • Successful design and deployment of SaaS and/or PaaS capabilities
  • Successful design and deployment of prototype capabilities
  • Experience with Other Transaction Authority (OTA) contracts
  • Performance in the with Army Test & Evaluation arena
  • Proven capability to drive funding and new requirements to a contract vehicle
  • Experience managing projects that employ the Agile methodology
  • Advanced certifications related to digitial engineering, IT, cloud, and/or project management (e.g., ITIL, Cameo, AWS, PMP)
