The Senior Director, Strategic Pricing & Contracting is responsible for managing Sobi, U.S. Commercial Contracts, Government Contracts, Government Pricing Programs, and vendors supporting these programs. The position will partner with Marketing, Market Access, Market Access Services, Finance, Legal and Compliance to ensure appropriate identification and evaluation of Commercial and Government contracting opportunities. This role is also responsible for third party vendors assisting Sobi in administering contracts including verifying compliance, processing rebates, administering chargebacks, calculating government pricing, and submitting government reports.

Primary responsibilities include the following (other duties may be assigned):

  • Collaboratively, with both Payer Strategy & Marketing, design the Contracting execution for market access evaluating the impact of federal, state, and local regulations, government pricing requirements, market dynamics and the competitive landscape on formulary coverage, market share, and profitability.
  • Partner with market access, contract administration vendors and legal to negotiate contract terms and confirm that all final agreements are accurate prior to execution.
  • Accountable for vendor management of Government Contracting and Pricing process including Medicaid, Medicare, Federal Supply Schedule (FSS), and 340B contract operations, and communications with respective government agencies.
  • In cooperation with the market access account management team, the Contract Operation & Pricing Executive/Senior Director is accountable for managing Sobi relationship with government agencies and purchasing organizations (VA, FSS, 340 B, Medicaid, Medicare, CMS, Payers, Wholesale Distributors and SPs).
  • Partner with Finance and oversee contract administration vendor to ensure proper forecasting, budgeting and accruals for all Medicaid and Commercial Payer rebates, FSS and Tricare chargebacks, Medicare Coverage Gap payments, and other government and commercial programs.
  • Works closely with third party contract administration vendor to designs and manage contract administration and reporting system.
  • Establishes and monitors KPIs for department including preparing pre-deal and post-deal analyses for contract terms.
  • Provides input to Pricing and Contract Committee based on benchmark products, market dynamics and implications for Commercial and Government contracts.
  • Publishes product price with pricing agencies and communicates to appropriate stakeholders.
  • Responsible for creating and maintaining policies, procedures, and operating instructions for all government pricing calculations and rebate payments.
  • Responsible for compliance with government regulations and Sobi standard operating procedures for market access contracts, government reporting, and product pricing.
  • Conducts Fair Market Value analysis and provides recommendations to legal and market access regarding contract terms.
  • Manage Contract Strategy effort and government reporting responsibility with emphasis on maintaining and driving effective internal controls (SOX 404 Compliance) and documenting policies and procedures.
  • Partner with Global for Business Development pricing and contracting inputs prior to diligence
  • Partner with Marketing, Finance and Payer Strategy on Long Range Plan and Quarterly F1 inputs
  • Work closely with Finance and Brand on quarterly GTN tracking, develop metrics to monitor Rate and Mix, with a goal of accuracy on a quarterly and annual basis

  • REQUIRED:
    • BA/BS with 15 years relevant experience of which seven years are in healthcare reimbursement; equivalent combination of advanced degree and less experience may be considered.
  • PREFERRED:
    • MBA preferred.
    • Thorough understanding of government programs, the regulatory agencies that monitor the programs, health care policy development, and the administrative structure of reimbursement sources.
    • High impact and influence among peers, vendor relationships, leadership team and external stakeholders including government agencies and health plans.
    • Ability to work collaboratively in a cross-functional team structure and delegate tasks appropriately.
    • Excellent analytical skills.
    • High attention to detail.
    • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
    • Strong problem-solving skills.


The base salary pay range for this role is $214,841-$322,261 annually. Actual pay for this position will take into account factors such as experience and location. In addition to a base salary, this position is also eligible for a competitive 401k match, short and long-term incentives, medical, dental, vision, STD/LTD and life insurance benefits, in addition to other health and wellness programs and offerings.
