We are seeking an IT Support Specialist. The ideal candidate will have a proven ability to implement and maintain MIPS’s computer systems and networks with a team of other IT support personnel. They will also provide technical support to employees and ensure that all hardware and software function smoothly.

You will:

  • Install, configure, and update PC hardware and software for both Windows, macOS, and Linux systems.
  • Update and test standardized PC software configurations.
  • Troubleshoot hardware and software issues in person and remotely.
  • Ensure security and privacy of networks and computer systems.
  • Set up, optimize, and support office networks, videoconferencing, and VPN connections to servers in remote offices.
  • Work with the IT team to administer Microsoft, Atlassian, and Linux based systems.
  • Provide orientation, training, and guidance to users on how to operate new software and computer equipment.
  • Perform troubleshooting to diagnose and resolve problems.
  • Maintain records/logs of repairs, fixes and HW/SW inventory.


Ideally, you’ll have:

  • Proven experience in an IT support role.
  • Excellent diagnostic and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication ability.
  • Degree in Computer Science, engineering, or relevant field.
  • Experience managing user licenses and subscriptions.
  • Understanding of Office365 administration and configuration including Office365 security, SharePoint and OneDrive, and Microsoft Teams.
  • Skills in automating tasks with PowerShell scripting.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Experience in administering Atlassian Jira and Confluence environments.
  • Ability to generate and maintain security policies.
  • Familiarity with network threat prevention features and maintaining security policies.
  • Experience in Network debugging and Network routing protocols such as ICMP, TCP, UDP, BGP, ISIS and others.
  • Understanding NAT concepts


A plus if you have:

  • Ability to program with one or more high level languages, such as Python.
  • Microsoft 365 Certified: Administrator Expert
  • Atlassian Cloud Foundations Certification
  • Skills in setting up, maintaining, and automating project workflows and schemas in Jira.
  • Knowledge of configuring and managing Palo Alto Network Firewalls and the virtual private network (VPN)
  • Experience administering and supporting Synopsys and Cadence EDA tools.
  • Understanding of VMWare and managing virtual machines in a server farm.

The base salary range across the U.S. for this role is between $100,000-$160,000. In addition, this role may be eligible for equity, and other discretionary bonuses. The actual compensation offered will be based on a number of job-related factors, including location, skills, experience, and education.
