The role of the Key Account Specialist at Biocair is deliver the highest quality service in our industry through the management of daily operational tasks in compliance with all relevant regulations, customer requirements and company targets. This includes assisting in the ongoing development of Biocair’ s operational logistics ability to ensure the highest levels of customer service, commerciality, quality and satisfaction.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Managing the end to end shipment process for identified Key Accounts to ensure completion in line with customers’ requirements.
  • Working closely with third party Biocair offices and suppliers to arrange and coordinate shipment solutions to include, collections, linehaul, customs clearance, deliveries and where applicable monitoring thereof.
  • Proactively monitoring the status of shipments, identifying and dealing with issues as they arise, implementing planned corrective measures and escalating appropriately to maintain product viability.
  • Utilizing technology to provide enhanced monitoring, management and control of shipments as required (i.e. GPS enabled devices, software solutions).
  • Providing the customer and/or consignee with regular, accurate and timely updates on shipment status as required.
  • Ensuring that Biocair’ s service remains accessible and easy to use at all times by the client and applicable stakeholders.
  • Ensuring the correct and timely completion of all pre and post shipment tasks.
  • Managing suppliers to provide a seamless extension of the appropriate Biocair service.
  • Developing and maintaining a close relationship with existing and potential clients by understanding needs, providing high levels of accurate and timely communication, ensuring complete satisfaction with the service provided and identifying service level improvements - to become a trusted supplier.
  • Identifying areas of weaknesses in the Biocair network and capabilities for the provision of Key Account logistics solutions and assisting in the design, implementation and completion of initiatives to resolve.
  • Assisting with the production of quotations and responses to RFP’s giving effective solutions to clients whilst maintaining the company’s profitability targets.
  • Assisting in delivering effective cool chain solutions based on the correct choice of solution and appropriate utilization dependent on client needs whilst proactively managing costs at all times.
  • Handling customer complaints promptly and effectively from receipt to resolution, escalating issues and seeking support from others where required. Taking ownership of investigations, root cause analysis and putting in place Corrective and Preventative Actions (CAPA’s) providing regular updates to customers and internal stakeholders.
  • Building positive working relationships with internal stakeholders and working pro-actively with other teams in all global locations to deliver excellent customer service.
  • Ensuring that the department operates compliantly and within the law at all times.

In addition, you will demonstrate these key competencies:

  • Proven experience working within cold chain, time sensitive multimodal freight forwarding, pharmaceutical industry ideally within a logistics environment.
  • Previous experience in a key account management role covering both customer and supplier relationships.

Please note that this is a full time role, 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday between 07:00 to 17:30 based onsite at our Raleigh office.
