Position Description:
The Alabama Pathways Registry is a web-hosted professional development registry (PDR) that allows individuals to register for professional development opportunities and obtain resources to enhance their knowledge and skills as an early care and education professional. The primary function of the PDR is to maintain a database for course records, certifications, endorsements, and continuing education units, as well as the adoption of the Alabama Pathways Professional Development Lattice and the Alabama Early Learning Guidelines. The PDR also tracks trainers and stores their experience in training adults, working with children, and education in their related field. The Alabama Pathways Registry was developed by the University of Alabama and further updated by John Hopkins University. The Alabama Pathways Registry is being transferred to the Department of Human Resources Information Services Division (DHR/ISD) to maintain and support. We are seeking a highly skilled Quality Assurance/Quality Control Analyst who has experience in testing large scale software solutions to support the transition of the PDR from John Hopkins to DHR/ISD and to work on projects of moderate to high complexity for the transferred PDR system. The incumbent will also work on projects for other applications developed using MS Power Apps and support the implementation of a Performance Testing program for various DHR applications. The selected Analyst will: * Perform manual and automated testing of applications, create, and maintain test data, and document test results to ensure that systems meet technical and functional requirements. * Perform volume, load, and stress testing of applications to identify bottlenecks and ensure that systems meet performance standards. * Review methodology documentation for accuracy, completeness, and quality so that new systems and changes to existing systems are completed accurately and in accordance with defined standards. * Design, develop, and document test plans and test scripts so that accurate test documentation exists for all assigned applications. * Work closely with all levels of DHR, Vendor and Partner Agency staff to share information and provide support so that system integrity is maintained, risk factors to applications are addressed, and users are able to perform their testing activities in a controlled test environment. * Provide and model positive, professional, and courteous customer service to DHR employees, other agencies, vendors, contractors, and the general public by sharing job knowledge and responding to requests for information/service in a timely, efficient, competent manner. * Communicate, both orally and in writing, with Division staff, supervisors, County/Division Directors, department employees, vendors, contractors, and the general public so that correct information is provided in a timely, professional, and courteous manner.

Experience Required:
  • 5+ years of experience conducting manual and automated testing of large, complex web-based applications, including Functional Testing, Integration Testing, Load Testing, Stress Testing, Performance Testing and Regression Testing.
  • 5+ years of experience testing projects developed using agile/scrum and waterfall methodologies.
  • 5+ years of experience analyzing Functional and Technical Requirements.
  • 5+ years of experience participating in code and design walkthroughs.
  • 5+ years of experience with Test Management.
  • 5+ years of experience analyzing requirements and design documents to design, create, and implement Test Plans, Test Strategies, and Test Scripts.
  • 5+ years of experience partnering with technical team members and other project stakeholders to develop Test Cases, Test Scripts and Test Scenarios.
  • 5+ years of experience analyzing test results.
  • 5+ years of experience creating and maintaining test documentation and test reports.
  • 5+ years of experience with defect reporting, triage, and tracking.
  • 5+ years of experience with writing, debugging, and executing SQL for verification and validation.
  • 5+ years of experience developing and executing automated tests with an industry standard automated testing tool.
  • 5+ years of experience developing and executing performance tests with an industry standard performance testing tool.
  • 5+ years of experience following formal Configuration Management procedures.
Experience Preferred:
  • Experience developing and executing automated tests with Cypress JS.
  • Experience developing and executing performance tests with LoadRunner.
  • Experience tracking work with Microsoft Team Foundation Server (TFS).
  • Experience using or testing applications developed in MS Power Apps.
  • Experience working in a public sector.
  • Experience testing enterprise level solutions.
Education Required:
  • Bachelor's degree/Master's degree with a minimum of 4 years of experience in testing web-based applications (Or)
  • High School diploma or GED with a minimum of 8 years of experience in testing web-based applications.
Education Preferred:
  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science.
Additional Information:
  • Job is in Montgomery, Alabama.
  • Candidate must work onsite at the DHR facility in Montgomery.
  • No telecommuting or work from home is allowed.
  • Candidate will not receive any travel expense reimbursement from DHR.
  • Candidate must be available for an interview either in person (preferred) or via Skype if in-person interview is not practical.
  • This is projected to be a long-term contract, with potential renewal every fiscal year.
