About Swell:

Swell is on a mission to improve mental health support for military families. We envision a world of healthier, happier, kinder, and more mentally resilient people - and we’re making this possible through our full-circle mental health platform.

Last year we launched our telehealth therapy app, intended to help military members and spouses access evidence-based mental health therapy whenever they need it, covered by Tricare. Our platform combines traditional 1:1 video therapy sessions with a mobile application designed to enhance skill adoption outside of the session, and reduce the overall time-to-benefit in therapy. Overtime we’ll also be building out a self-guided portion of our platform focused on Interventional & Preventative mental healthcare for individuals and couples.

We’re a small startup created by a group of therapists, social workers, military spouses, and former service members. We’re passionate about improving access and outcomes for the military community and are looking for therapists (full or part time) to join our team. If you’re excited about our mission and eager to support this community, then we want to talk to you!

We’re building a distributed team located across several states and leveraging tools to make working remotely work for us. We have a wonderful supportive team that stays connected via slack and video calls. We’re looking for someone who can embrace the work-from-anywhere lifestyle while participating in a culture of collaboration and inclusivity across our team.

What you’ll do here:

  • Provide evidence-based therapy via 55-minute live video sessions to adult clients.
  • Manage a consistent weekly caseload of clients (you choose how many sessions work for your lifestyle)
  • Establish and track goals in partnership with each of your clients, monitoring outcomes over time.
  • Assign & review in-app homework (video modules, daily journaling, check-ins, etc) tailored for each client.
  • Maintain progress notes and participate in quality reviews

About you:

  • You have empathy in spades
  • You’re a fully licensed therapist in the state of TN or KY (LMFT - Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, LCSW - Licensed Clinical Social Worker , or LPC-MHSP - Licensed Professional Counselor-Mental Health Services Provider)
  • You have experience treating individuals with relationship issues, trauma, PTSD, Postpartum Depression, Generalized Anxiety Disorder, and Depressive disorders
  • You work with evidence-based care modalities like CBT, DBT, EMDR, etc
  • Your practice is oriented around measurable change in clients lives and usually involves SMART goals and skill building
  • You believe in challenging yourself and your clients, leaning into the discomfort that often accompanies growth
  • You have incredible time management skills
  • You share Swell’s vision and want to be a part of making it a reality

Minimum Requirements:

  • Must already be licensed by a State Board to provide unsupervised mental health therapy (e.g., LPC-MHSP, LCSW, LMFT) in Tennessee or Kentucky
  • Must have recent experience providing clinical therapy in an outpatient setting.
  • Must have access to a reliable internet connection that can support clear video calls.
  • Must have a dedicated therapy space that is quiet and private so you can work remotely and provide confidential therapy without distractions.
  • Must be able to maintain a consistent schedule to support reliable recurring sessions with clients.

Benefits:

  • Flexible schedule: you are in control of your schedule and appointment times and can commit to as many or few clients as you want.
  • Remote culture that supports you working from anywhere with an internet connection
  • A supportive team to connect and consult with
  • Opportunity for growth and promotion
  • Minimal paperwork :)

Bonus Points:

  • Currently or previously credentialed with TRICARE
  • Bilingual in English/Spanish
  • Have evening availability

Comp Details:

Our compensation plan is on a sliding scale that starts at $40/session and goes up to $60/session plus monthly bonuses. Comp is standardized and based on both level of experience and caseload - we’ll provide a matrix with the breakdown for applicants.

Other info:

We’re looking for several therapists and are open to folks who are fully licensed with the state of Tennessee and/or Kentucky.

We prefer our therapists to have foundational training in at least one evidence-based therapy modality and trauma-informed care knowledge prior to starting at Swell. We’re happy to support you in further developing these skills through ongoing training, supervision, and consultation.

Individuals of all colors, backgrounds, religions (or lack thereof), sexual orientations, and gender identities who are passionate about helping clients bring about meaningful, measurable change in their lives are encouraged to apply.

Note: This is a contractor (non W2) position. Moonlighting with a private practice other group is permitted by Swell Health for contractors, but you'll have to sign a non-recruiting agreement for Swell clients.
