The Challenge
We are looking for an entry-Level Survey Engineering Technician to join our Randolph County engineering team.
In this role, you will:
⦁ Perform technical work supporting senior technicians and engineers in route location surveying.
⦁ Do standardized and non-standardized tasks and assignments compiling, analyzing, computing, editing, and processing field data.
⦁ Apply mature decision making and good judgment.
⦁ Perform calculations and computations.
⦁ Work inside and outside in all environmental conditions.
⦁ Work as a part of an engineering survey crew under the supervision of senior technicians and engineers.
⦁ Perform basic field and office technical assignments relating to highway route location survey projects.
⦁ Operate survey instruments, CADD. and computer applications in surveying, creating plan sheets, and creating/managing survey data, including hydraulic surveys, complex horizontal alignments and setting photogrammetric controls, property condemnation, and Global Positioning System (GPS) field work.
⦁ Operate Electronic Engineering Survey and CADD equipment.
⦁ Complete Courthouse research.
⦁ Maintain safety of self, the team, and the worksite.
What You Bring
⦁ Demonstrated ability to verbally communicate technical information, including via handheld radio.
⦁ Computer skills to perform basic internet tasks, such as online property searches.
⦁ Basic math skills in geometry, trigonometry, and algebra.
⦁ Demonstrated ability to follow verbal and written procedures and instructions.
⦁ Demonstrated ability to work as a team member in less complex assignments, such as collecting data or photogrammetric/topographical features in the field for plan sheet preparation.
Education & Experience
⦁ Associate's degree in Engineering Technology, Survey Technology or a related field; or
⦁ An equivalent combination of training and experience.
